With history dating back over 100 years, Northland Ferries provides reliable and efficient transport options for local communities and visitors across the Northland region. Our vehicle and passenger ferries operate year-round and can accommodate a variety of vehicles, from motorbikes to large trucks and trailers. 

As an integral part of the community, we also assist local emergency services with after-hours support to help keep our communities safe.  

Resident and frequent user concession cards are available and our team is always happy to help if you have questions about a specific transport requirement.

Opua / OKIATo

Easy access between the east and west sides of the Bay of Islands, connecting Russell and beyond.

Open to cars, campervans, trucks, trailers and foot passengers. 

Paihia / Russell

Take a short trip across the harbour to Russell (Kororāreka) on the passenger ferry and discover this historic town.

Foot passengers only.

Rawene / Narrows

Linking the two sides of the Hokianga Harbour on the Twin Coast Discovery Highway.

Open to cars, campervans, trucks, trailers and foot passengers.
